COP Together
Background: Within the UN system, Chinese observer institutions account for only 2.7% of the total, significantly disproportionate to the country’s global standing and climate influence. As a leading local climate NGO, C Team launched the COP Together initiative to address this gap by enabling more Chinese social organizations to participate in international climate governance. The project assists organizations in obtaining or applying for observer status, thereby strengthening China’s voice in global climate discourse.
C Team mobilizes and mentors Chinese social organizations that prioritize climate action to apply for observer status with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), providing operational guidance and support for their participation in the Conference of the Parties (COP). This initiative aims to increase the representation of Chinese social organizations at the UNFCCC COP sessions.
